Providing education and training about domestic abuse and sexual assault, their consequences and victim support services, is a critical tool for prevention and a key component of the Womanspace coordinated community response and outreach to support victims and their families. Descriptions and examples of group classifications and speaking seminars are outlined below.

Domestic Violence Victim Response Team and Sexual Assault Advocacy Training is provided for individuals who are interested in becoming members of Domestic Violence Victim Response Teams (DVVRT) or Sexual Assault Support Advocates who serve on the Mercer County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). The trained volunteers are qualified to meet with victims and are supervised by Womanspace staff members.
Professional Training and Technical Assistance for court and judicial personnel, human services, healthcare, mental health, education and law enforcement professionals, is provided by Womanspace staff members and volunteers.
Community Education provides speakers for civic associations, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, schools and others who are interested in understanding interpersonal abuse and violence. By learning more about the issues, community members can become an integral part of the coordinated community response necessary to support victims and hold abusers accountable for their actions.
