The Family Court Advocacy Program
The Family Court Advocacy program annually provides services to over 1,000 victims at Mercer County Family Court. Survivors of domestic violence are guided through the restraining order process at Mercer County Family Court with the assistance of Counselor Advocates. Call 609-571-4437 for information. Survivors may also call 609-394-2532 for additional restraining order preparation resources.
Municipal Court Advocates are available to victims at the Trenton and Hamilton Municipal Courts to assist victims in domestic violence criminal cases proceedings. At the invitation of both the Trenton and the Hamilton Municipal Courts, CSS began providing court advocacy to victims who pursue criminal matters that arise out of the domestic violence situation. Advocates provide information regarding a victim’s rights and options, and conduct safety planning. This program was a natural extension of the advocacy that CSS provides at Family Court for victims pursuing restraining orders.
Volunteer Family Law attorneys provide legal consultation to Survivors at the Legal Clinic. The Clinic offers a one-time consultation on family law matters related to domestic violence. Attorneys are available by appointment to provide you with 35 minutes of legal advice. The fee is based on a sliding scale. Call 609-394-2532 for more information.
